Projeto Raízes: compartilhando referências negras gaúchas através da arte contemporânea.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the artistic practice elaborated for the development of the project Projeto Raízes Project: Sharing gaucho black references through contemporary art, whose process deals with the realization of a series of urban interventions constituted from the collage of licks and stickers as sharing devices. I try to insert Afro-gaúchas references in the city's architecture in order to reverberate their narratives as positive representations, for their role in the culture and society of the region, proposing the revisiting of the past and reflection on the present, given the historical erasure resulting from what we call of epistemicide. The research seeks to contribute to the construction of a process that gives greater visibility to the black presence and its contributions to the state's culture. Likewise, it discusses the role of art in the education of the look and the perception of a more pluralized perspective of the social, where the black population can feel represented and have representativeness.
