| dc.description.abstract | Throughout history, women have gained more space in the workforce. However, many professions remain predominantly male-dominated. During a master’s research project on the history of Rádio Federal FM, a station affiliated with the Federal University of Pelotas, it was observed that in its 37 years of existence at the time, only four women worked as radio broadcasters. This scenario reflects the reality of other radio stations in Pelotas. The research conducted for this thesis was carried out within the Graduate Program in History at the Federal University of Pelotas, under the Research Line "Trajectories: Between Identities, Memory, and Social Conflict." It constitutes a historiographical effort to broaden the study of the trajectory of women who entered a male-dominated environment. The goal is to investigate the role of female broadcasters at the community radio station RádioCom, identifying the spaces occupied by these women, the challenges they faced, and the roles they played within media outlets. Starting from the thesis that, in a community radio station, there is a broader space for women, driven by its community character and the support of the trade unions that maintain it, the research examines whether this environment provides a greater degree of female inclusion, in contrast to the structure of commercial media outlets. It also investigates whether progressive environments bear traces of oppression, reflected in the treatment of women, their invisibility in leadership positions, and their silencing. Through memory, which can store information and events experienced throughout life, it is possible to reconstruct past events that were often forgotten or not recorded in other types of documents. Thus, employing the methodology of Oral History in its thematic approach, the research focuses on the reconstruction of the memories of eight female broadcasters, enabling an understanding of the challenges faced and the evolution of the female presence at RádioCom. Through these narratives, it becomes possible to explore how these women broke barriers and contributed to diversifying the radio environment.This research contributes to a greater understanding of the history and role of women in radio, offering new insights into diversification and inclusion in this sector. | pt_BR |

| dc.description.resumo | Ao longo da história, as mulheres têm conquistado mais espaço no mundo do trabalho. No entanto, muitas profissões ainda permanecem predominantemente masculinas. Durante a pesquisa de mestrado sobre a história da Rádio Federal FM, emissora vinculada à Universidade Federal de Pelotas, observou-se que, em seus 37 anos de existência na época, apenas quatro mulheres atuaram como radialistas. Esse cenário, reflete a realidade de outras rádios pelotenses. A pesquisa desenvolvida para esta tese foi realizada no âmbito do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, na Linha de Pesquisa Trajetórias: entre Identidades, Memória e Conflito Social e compreende um trabalho historiográfico que busca ampliar o estudo sobre a trajetória das mulheres que ingressaram em um ambiente dominado por homens. O objetivo é investigar a atuação de radialistas na rádio comunitária RádioCom, identificando os espaços ocupados por essas mulheres, as dificuldades enfrentadas e o papel que desempenham dentro dos veículos de comunicação. Partindo da tese de que, em uma rádio comunitária, o espaço para mulheres é maior, impulsionado pelo caráter comunitário e pelo apoio dos sindicatos que a mantêm, a pesquisa analisa se esse ambiente proporciona uma inclusão feminina mais ampla, contrastando com a estrutura presente em veículos de comunicação de caráter comercial. Também investiga se ambientes vistos como progressistas carregam traços de opressões, refletidos no tratamento dado às mulheres, na invisibilização em posições de lideranças e no silenciamento. Através da memória, que tem a capacidade de armazenar informações e acontecimentos experienciados ao longo da vida, é possível reconstruir fatos do passado que, muitas vezes, foram esquecidos pelas pessoas ou não foram registrados em outro tipo de documento. Dessa forma, utilizando a metodologia de História Oral, em sua vertente temática, a pesquisa se concentrará na reconstrução de memórias de oito radialistas, possibilitando a compreensão dos desafios enfrentados e a evolução da presença feminina na RádioCom. Por meio dessas narrativas, será possível explorar como essas mulheres romperam barreiras e contribuíram para a diversificação do ambiente radiofônico. Esta pesquisa contribui para a maior compreensão da história e do papel das mulheres no rádio, oferecendo novos insights sobre a diversificação e inclusão nesse setor. | pt_BR |
