Os Prefeitos do Partido dos Trabalhadores no Rio Grande do Sul (1988-2012): um estudo sobre perfil social de elites políticas.

Abstract

This essay has as object the mayors of the Workers‟ Party (Partido dos Trabalhadores [PT]) who were elected in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in the 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 elections. The objectives of the investigation are identify all mayors who were elected by the Workers‟ Party in Rio Grande do Sul and the social profile of each one of them; identify and analyze their gender diversifications, age, occupation, schooling and marital status, as well as, verify if there is something in their social profiles which had a role in the electoral results.
