História de vida de mulheres sindicalistas: o caso das professoras do 17° Núcleo do CPERS/Sindicato (Bagé/1979-2022)

Abstract

The following study aims at analyzing the path followed by a group of active female trade unionist teachers from the 17º Section of CPERS/SINDICATO (Bagé/RS) through their live stories. This institution is the second largest trade union in Latin America and is mainly composed of women. However, the historiography surrounding the CPERS/SINDICATO seems to have not yet significantly explored the gender issues interposed with this union movement. Therefore, the research develops a dialogue with fields of study such as Women's History (Perrot, 2020; Lerner, 2019), Oral History, with an emphasis on the Life History modality (Alberti, 2004; Bosi, 1979; Meihy, Holanda, 2020) and the concept of Memory (Halbwachs, 1990; Pollak, 1992). Furthermore, a look was also taken at the history of the union movement, as well as that of CPERS/Sindicato and the singularities of the 17th Section, located in Bagé/RS. The research participants are four women, teachers and trade unionists who worked in the state public schools network in Bagé and other cities in the region. The historical period of analysis follows the years of existence of the 17th Section and the group's activities within the entity, beginning in 1979 and extending until 2022. Thus, through their life trajectories, it becomes evident that being in the union movement not only forms part of their identity and memory but also shapes both aspects of their lives in the public and private spheres. Furthermore, evidence was found that exposes the impact that union activity had on the personal and professional spheres of their lives. Through their narratives, the challenges they encountered in their work in the union movement of the 17th Center of CPERS/Union are unequivocal.
